Peter: Lessons to learn from his life (IV)

TEXT:            Ephesians 5:16

INTRODUCTION:
A man of God once asked his Church members during a New Year eve around 11:38pm, “How many of you still believe that he could own a house before the end of this year? They looked at one another in surprise of that kind of question.
They all kept quiet for some seconds. But a man raised his hand and warmly said, “I believe sir”. The man of God laughed and then asked the man to step forward. “These are the keys to your house”, the man of God said. The man was so shocked, even the whole congregation.
Peter along with the disciples were in a boat sailing to Gennesaret, an area around Capernaum and Bethsaida.
They had left Jesus behind on land and he had no boat. Eventually Jesus went on and walked out to the disciples on the water in which they were terrified. Peter challenged the man walking on water to prove it was Jesus, by proposing that he would come out onto the water himself. So Simon went out on the water with Jesus. As Peter walked on the water he became fearful of the wind and began to sink into the water. He cried out for Jesus to save him. Jesus reached out his hand and caught Peter asking Peter why he had such little faith and doubted.

APPLICATION/CONCLUSION
Out of all the disciples, Peter was the only one who walked on the waters. He quickly seized the opportunity with faith and courage. As good Disciples of Christ, we should be sensitive to the opportunities that have been preloaded in each day and make good use of them to the glory of God. You out of all people can make a good difference by being sensitive to God-given opportunities. God is always glad when we are sensitive and responsive to His signals.
