Peter: Lessons to learn from his life (III)
TEXT: Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
INTRODUCTION:
The heroes of scripture are real people. They have real faults, and God reveals how some of them overcame their faults to become leaders.

Today, we shall consider yet other lessons we can learn from the life of this apostle, Peter.

Holy Boldness Can Move Multitudes
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus.” –Acts 4:13

Jesus overcomes fear.
Whether stepping out of a boat onto a tossing sea or stepping across the threshold of a Gentile home for the first time, Peter found courage in following Christ. “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18).

Jesus forgives unfaithfulness.
After he had boasted of his fidelity, Peter fervently denied the Lord three times. It seemed that Peter had burned his bridges, but Jesus lovingly rebuilt them and restored Peter to service. Peter was a former failure, but, with Jesus, failure is not the end. “If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself” (2 Timothy 2:13).

APPLICATION/CONCLUSION
It is so glaring in the life of Peter that God can transform any man when we give Him the chance to do. This was the same Peter that hid himself, denied that he never knew Christ. Jesus had worked on him, Holy Spirit had transformed him.
But before then, Peter yielded and was ready to be touched and transformed. Are you ready to be touched today? Do you need transformation today? Surrender to Jesus completely today and He will change your life.
